The traditional ranking made by “50 Top Pizza World”, one of the main Italian awards that selects the best artisanal pizzerias in the world, elected Brazilian Matheus Ramos, founder of QT Pizza Bar, as the “Pizzaiolo of the Year” for 2024.
The announcement was made last Tuesday (10), in Naples, in the south of Italy, and marks the rise of QT Pizza Bar to 38th position in the ranking, an increase of 13 places compared to the previous year, when the São Paulo pizzeria occupied 51st place.
“I am very happy to receive these awards for Pizzaiolo of the Year and 38th best artisanal pizzeria in the world,” celebrated Matheus Ramos, founder of QT Pizza Bar.
According to him, since the establishment opened in 2019, “time, a lot of dedication, a lot of willpower have been invested to always deliver the best possible in our dough and toppings”.
“It is very gratifying to see this effort being translated into yet another award of this level, the third in almost five years of operation,” added Ramos, who was chosen Pizzaiolo of the Year.
The Brazilian pizzeria also occupies 2nd place in the 50 Top Pizza Latin America and, later this month, will compete in “The Best Pizza 2024”, the results of which will be made available on September 30, in Milan.
Opened on the eve of the pandemic, QT Pizza Bar features a modern and uncluttered architectural design, designed by Bruna Pires, a partner in the pizzeria, alongside Ramos. The pizzas are made in the Neapolitan style, with naturally leavened dough.
In addition to this achievement, the Italian award included five Brazilian pizzerias among the 100 best on the planet: Leggera Pizza Napoletana (11th), QT Pizza (38th), Pizza da Mooca (53rd), Unica Pizzeria (87th) and Ferro e Farinha (89th).
The first four are located in São Paulo, while the fifth belongs to Rio de Janeiro. The ranking also adds 41 Italian pizzerias among the 100 best in the world. (HANDLE)
